The Open Sea

Happy Monday, everyone!  I hope you are having a great weekend!  It has been glorious weather here in Utah.  I like to say that Utah puts on her pretty dress at this time of year.  The tulips are blooming everywhere, and the trees are full of blossoms.

Today I would like to share a card that I made for the monthly card club that I attend.  This card originally started out as a tri-fold, but when I added the hardware tab, the flap on the left kept popping up, so I just glued it down.  I will definitely use this design again, only I will save paper by making a bi-fold.

To make this card as a bi-fold, begin with a base layer of cardstock cut to 8-1/4 x 4-1/4 inches and score at 2-3/4.

The world map image is from the stamp set "The Open Sea" and is stamped on a 3 x 3 piece of cardstock with the edges distressed with brown ink.

The sentiment stamped inside is no longer available.  The cardstock that it is stamped on is 2-3/4 x 4 inches.

I have a "thing" about exposed brad backs, so I punched a circle of coordinating paper and glued it on top with a glue dot.

I used Stampin' Up's Big Shot Framelits envelope die to make coordinating envelope liners.

The patterned paper is old from my stash, as is the little hardware tab.  I love this card design so much, I am going to use it again on a card for next month's card club.  I love that the card will look totally different because of different paper and stamps.  Thanks for stopping by!
